This writ application has been filed for the following reliefs:
"(I) For issuance of an appropriate writ in the nature of MANDAMUS, commanding and directing the respondent No. 2 for disposal of Arms Licence Case No.
115 of 2017 which is pending consideration before the respondent No. 2 at least since 2903-2017 in respect of which the
Patna High Court CWJC No.2880 of 2019(2) dt.20-02-2019 2/3 petitioner had filed his application on 05-12-2015 and he has been recommended for grant of licence by the respondent Nos. 4 to 9.
(II) For a declaration that if application of the petitioner for grant of Arms Licence on account of danger to his life and property was recommended by the respondent Nos 4 to 9, there was no occasion for the respondent No.
2 to keep the matter pending before him since long.
(III) For issuance of any other appropriate writ/writs, order/orders, direction/directions for which the writ petitioner would be found entitled to under the facts and circumstances of the case".
It has been submitted that the petitioner had filed an application for the arms licence vide Annexure-1 to the present application. On the basis of said application, Arms Case No. 115 of 2017 was initiated and the said proceeding is pending till date, which is evident from Annexure-3 to the present application.
Considering the aforesaid facts and circumstances, the District Magistrate, Saran at Chapra, District- Saran at Chapra (respondent No. 2) is directed to conclude the said proceeding in accordance with law preferably within a period of four months
Patna High Court CWJC No.2880 of 2019(2) dt.20-02-2019 3/3 from the date of receipt/production of copy of this order. With the aforesaid observation/direction, this writ application stands disposed of.
