Petitioners apprehend arrest in a case registered for the offence punishable under sections 376, 307, 120B, 506/34 and other ancillary Sections of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 3 & 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act.

As per the prosecution case, all the FIR named accused persons including these petitioners repeatedly committed rape upon the informant for more than six months and also got her forcibly aborted. Accused persons demanded Rs.10 lacs as dowry for marrying her to co-accused Rana Kumar.

Learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submits that the petitioners are innocent and have falsely been implicated in this case only because they happen to be brotherin-law (bahnoi) of co-accused Rana Kumar Ranbir who was in love with the informant. Petitioners claim clean antecedent. Learned counsel for the State opposes the prayer for

Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.11754 of 2023(2) dt.01-05-2023 2/2 bail. He submits that the petitioners are named in the FIR with allegation that these petitioners repeatedly committed rape upon the informant for more than six months and also got her forcibly aborted.
