Learned Central Government Counsel appearing on

Patna High Court CWJC No.6276 of 2021(8) dt.24-03-2022 2/2 behalf of the Union of India submits, on the basis of instructions, that the petitioner has now been paid the amount with interest.

Learned counsel for the petitioner does not dispute the fact that the payment has been made. He has, however, submitted that computation of interest on the amount is not proper and not in accordance with the interest payable annually which is to be calculated quarterly against a post office time deposit account.

Considering the circumstance that the petitioner's grievance has been substantially redressed, this application is disposed of with an observation that the petitioner shall be at liberty to make a representation before the Chief Postmaster General, GPO, Patna, if, according to him, the amount which has been paid is less than what he is entitled to in terms of the scheme governing the fixed deposit in question.
