2. The petitioner seeks regular bail in a case registered for the offence under Sections 304B, 201/34 of the Indian Penal Code.

3. As per the prosecution case, petitioner is the husband of the deceased. It has been alleged that deceased was killed for demand of dowry and cremated without any information to the police and the family members.

4. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that during investigation independent witnesses has said that the deceased committed suicide as she had quarreled with her husband. Petitioner is in custody since 07.08.2023.

5. Learned A.P.P. has vehemently opposed the

Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.10917 of 2024(3) dt.18-04-2024 2/2 prayer for bail.

6. I have considered the submissions of the parties. The so-called independent witnesses have surfaced after about three months of the occurrence which creates doubt on their statement.

7. Considering the fact that there is allegation of demand of dowry, torture and killing against the petitioner, I am not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.

8. Accordingly, this application for regular bail is dismissed. The court below is directed to expedite the trial of the petitioner.
