In this case, the petitioner is seeking bail in connection with Complaint Case No. 2817 of 2012 registered for offences under sections 498-A of the Indian Penal Code and Section 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act.

The marriage of the complainant was solemnized with the petitioner but allegation has been made to have subjected her to cruelty and torture, ultimately ousted from his house. The counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody since 28.05.2005.

Patna High Court Cr.Misc. No.51269 of 2015 (2) dt.30-01-2016 2/2 Looking to the period of custody and nature of allegation, let the petitioner, above named, be released on bail on his furnishing bail bond of Rs. 10,000/- (ten thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of learned SubDivisional Judicial Magistrate, Katihar in connection with Complaint Case No. 2817 of 2012.
