Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned A.P.P. for the State.

The petitioner apprehends his arrest in a case registered for the offences punishable under Sections 384 and 386 of the Indian Penal Code.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is a person with clean antecedents and the informant alleges that on 22-08-2022, he received a ransom call from mobile number 7255814165 and the caller demanded a ransom of Rs.15 lakhs and also threatened him. It is next submitted that petitioner is not named in the FIR and his name transpired during the course of investigation in the confessional statement of Md. Irfan Hussain @ Saddam. It is also submitted that the mobile from which the ransom call was made, does not belong

Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.12911 of 2024(2) dt.14-03-2024 2/2 to the petitioner. It is next submitted that similarly situated coaccused, Md Ekhlaque Khan @ Md Iqualakh Khan, has been granted privilege of anticipatory bail by order dated 19-8-2023 in Cr. Misc. No. 34258 of 2023 by a learned Co-ordinate Bench. 4.

Learned A.P.P. for the State opposes the prayer for anticipatory bail of the petitioner.

Considering the submissions made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, the petitioner above-named, in the event of his arrest or surrender before the learned trial court within a period of six weeks from today, be released on anticipatory bail on furnishing bail bonds of Rs. 25,000/- (Rupees Twenty Five Thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of the learned trial court where the case is pending/successor court in connection with Dumra P.S. Case No. 394 of 2022, subject to the conditions as laid down under Section 438 (2) of the Cr.P.C.

One of the bailors of the petitioner shall be his father, Jamaluddin.
