2. The present writ application has been filed by the petitioner for a direction to the respondents to consider the case of the petitioner for appointment on compassionate ground.

3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the father of the petitioner has died in harness on 13th of October, 2015.

4. It appears from the statements made in para-14 of the writ petition that the petitioner has submitted application in proper form with the recommendation of the Headmaster and BEO with police verification dated 7.1.2017 and the same was forwarded to the

Patna High Court CWJC No.239 of 2018 dt.16-03-2018 2/2 District Education Officer, Bhojpur at Ara vide letter no. 154 dated 13.1.2016.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the respondents are required to take immediate decision on the application for compassionate appointment keeping in view the objective behind compassionate appointment. The idea behind compassionate appointment is to provide immediate financial assistance to the family of the employee died in harness so that the family may tide over the crisis on account of sudden death of bread earner.

Considering the objective behind compassionate appointment, the respondents are directed to take final decision on the application of the petitioner for compassionate appointment, if not already taken, within a period of sixty days from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order.

The writ petition stands disposed of with the aforesaid observations/directions.
