The petitioner seeks his appointment / regularization on the post of Peon on the sole ground that he has been rendering his services under MGNREGA and other government sponsored schemes for a long time by now.

There can be no doubt that such rendering of services, even though for a long period, would not give any right to the petitioner to claim appointment / regularization.

Patna High Court CWJC No.3405 of 2019 dt.25-02-2019 2/2 Nonetheless, considering the fact that the petitioner belongs to a poor strata of society and the services of the petitioner and his likes are still required, this Court only directs the petitioner to make a representation before the District Magistrate, Banka to consider his case for appointment / regularization. Should such an application be filed, the District Magistrate, Banka shall look into the matter and shall pass necessary orders in accordance with law within a period of six weeks of such representation having been placed before him. With the aforesaid observation / direction, this petition stands disposed off.
