2. The present petition has been preferred for the grant of following relief(s):

"for issuance of an appropriate writ/writs, order/order, direction/directions commanding the respondent nos. 2 and 3 not to release payment of the compensation amount in respect of the land appertaining to Khata No.

Patna High Court CWJC No.17300 of 2016(3) dt.19-08-2025 2/3 210, Plot No. 678, 740, 363 and Khata No. 87, Plot No. 342 before adjudication of due share of the respective parties in the aforesaid land and be further pleased to command the respondents to consider the respective share of the parties on the basis of the genealogical table and entry made in Khatian of the land and the purchased land of the grandfather of the petitioners and grant any relief or reliefs to which the petitioner is legally entitled."

3. It is one of the unfortunate case where the State despite pendency of writ petition for nine long years, has not filed any reply.

4. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that they shall be contended if a decision is taken by the District Land Acquisition Officer, Patna (respondent no.2), if still not taken.

5. This Court has two option-either to impose cost upon the State respondents while allowing them to file counter affidavit. Alternatively, accepting the prayer of the petition to dispose of the writ petition.

6. The writ petition is accordingly disposed of directing the respondent District Land Acquisition Officer, Patna

Patna High Court CWJC No.17300 of 2016(3) dt.19-08-2025 3/3 (respondent no.2) to look into the facts and if a decision has still not been taken, to take a decision by 31st December, 2025.

7. The writ petition stands disposed of with the aforesaid observation.
