The petitioner is aggrieved by allotment of the petrol outlet to a candidate who has been successful in the draw of lots. According to him, earlier his name was being considered and he had deposited some requisite amount with the Indian Oil Corporation.

At the outset, a query has been put to learned counsel whether there is an internal mechanism available with the

Patna High Court CWJC No.2832 of 2020 dt.22-12-2021 2/2 Corporation to consider such a plea as raised by the petitioner, the Court has been apprised that a Grievance Redressal Mechanism is in place and is fully functional. We propose to relegate the petitioner to the said mechanism, to which the learned counsel for the petitioner has no objection.

The petition is, thus, disposed off with liberty to the petitioner to appear before the Grievance Redressal Authority which shall afford an opportunity of hearing to him and take a decision within two weeks. It is made clear that the petitioner shall be at liberty to file a representation/ complaint within one week from today which shall be decided within two weeks thereafter. Till then, status quo regarding the outlet becoming functional shall be maintained.
