1. The Writ petition is filed seeking a direction for the release of the petitioner's vehicle, a Tata Mini Truck bearing Registration No. BR-112099, which was seized in connection with Tarabari P.S. Case No. 25 of 2012, dated 02.04.2012, instituted under Section 7 of the Essential Commodities Act. The vehicle was later confiscated by the District Magistrate, Araria, in Case No. 01 of 2012-13 vide order dated 02.08.2012, under Section 6A of the Essential Commodities Act. The confiscation order has not
Patna High Court CWJC No.14657 of 2018(3) dt.14-07-2025 2/2 been disposed of yet, and the vehicle remains idle, pending Confiscation Appeal No. 01 of 2014.
2. During the course of arguments, the Learned counsel for the petitioner contended that a direction may be given to the Appellate Authority to dispose of Confiscation Appeal No. 01 of 2014, which is pending since long back.
3. If Confiscation Appeal No. 01 fo 2014 is still pending, this Court directs the Appellate Authority to dispose of the appeal within a period of two months from the date of receipt of this order.
4. With the aforesaid observations, the Writ petition stands disposed of.
