The petitioner is in custody in connection with Town (Kadirganj) P.S. Case No. 554 of 2013 for offence punishable under Sections 147, 148, 149, 323, 307, 448, 380, 504 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 27 of the Arms Act.
The FIR charges the nine accused of demanding extortion from the wife of the informant as well as of assaulting the informant upon altercation taking place.
Learned counsel for the petitioner with reference to the FIR has submitted that the accused have been charged in an omnibus manner with threatening and extortion. It is contended that although specific allegation has been made against the accused Guddu Manjhi and the petitioner of assault on head and back but the details of the injury report present at Annexure-2 would show that there is only one cut injury on the forehead and which has also been rendered as simple. He submits that the petitioner has a clean antecedent and is in custody since 20.7.2015.

No.58185 of 2015 (2) dt.25-01-2016 Having heard learned counsel for the parties and considering the circumstances existing, let the petitioner Jageshwar Manjhi be released on bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs. 10,000/- (rupees ten thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Nawada in connection with Town (Kadirganj) P.S.
