2. The writ petition has been filed for the following reliefs :- "For issuance of writ of mandamus for

Patna High Court CWJC No.2679 of 2026(2) dt.23-07-2026 2/3 directing/commanding the respondent authorities to grant Arms Licenses to the petitioner for carrying Revolver/Pistol."

3. Learned Senior Counsel for the petitioner Sri Rajesh Kumar Singh, submits that pursuant to the order passed in C.W.J.C. No.4148 of 2020, the petitioner has filed a fresh application for grant of arms license in prescribed format with all requisites but for unexplained reasons, the application for grant of the licence is still pending, and no decision has been taken thereon.

On the other hand, learned counsel for the State submits that the petitioner may be directed to file a representation furnishing the details of all such representations filed earlier, along with a copy of this order, and accordingly, the licensing authority may be directed to pass a final order within a stipulated time.

5. Considering the stand of the parties, this Court directs the petitioner to file a fresh representation/application, appending a copy of this order, within a period of two weeks from today. It is made clear that the licensing authority shall examine the case of the petitioner as well as the facts stated in the representation so filed, and shall take an appropriate decision on the application for grant of licence within a period

Patna High Court CWJC No.2679 of 2026(2) dt.23-07-2026 3/3 of eight weeks from the date of filing of such representation and a copy of the final order shall also be communicated to the petitioner.
