In view of the limited prayer made at the time of hearing, this writ application is being disposed of with liberty to the petitioner to approach the competent court itself by filing an application for release of the firearm which was seized in a police case in which the petitioner claims that he has been acquitted of the charge. If such application is filed, let the same be considered by the competent court on its own merit and in accordance with law expeditiously but not later than three months from the date of filing of such application along with a copy of this order.
