Deceased Nikki Devi met with her death while staying at her Sasural and for that, there happens to be an allegation that there was demand of dowry and on account of nonfulfillment thereof, she was eliminated. It has also been disclosed that at previous occasion also she was treated in similar way whereupon a case under Section 498A of the IPC along with other allied sections was filed wherein the husband gave an undertaking to keep the deceased under congenial, harmonic atmosphere. From para-64 of the case diary, it is evident that informant of this case had filed copy of the FIR wherefrom it is apparent that it is the husband who was torturing the deceased.
