JUSTICE MOHIT KUMAR SHAH ORAL ORDER 14-11-2022 Though the present writ petition has been filed for directing the District Magistrate, Banka to dispose of the pending application of the petitioner for grant of arms license, which was filed on 20.10.2014, however, the learned counsel for the petitioner submits that since the new Arms Rules, 2016 have come into force, the petitioner be granted liberty to file a fresh wholesome application for grant of arms license, nonetheless,

Patna High Court CWJC No.8114 of 2021(2) dt.14-11-2022 2/2 the District Magistrate, Banka be directed to consider the same and dispose of the same within a stipulated time frame.

Having regard to the limited prayer made by the petitioner in the present writ petition, I deem it fit and proper to grant liberty to the petitioner to file appropriate application for grant of arms license afresh and in case, such an application is filed within a period of four weeks from today, the District Magistrate, Banka shall consider the same, in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders thereon, within a period of eight weeks, thereafter.

The writ petition stands disposed of on the aforesaid terms.
