The petitioner apprehends his arrest in connection with Kahalgaon P.S. Case No. 509 of 2018 for the offence punishable under Sections 376 of the Indian Penal Code. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner, who is of clean antecedent, is innocent and has not committed any offence. In fact, the F.I.R. has been lodged after lapse of 21⁄2 years from the date of occurrence without explaining the plausible delay. Moreover the age of the victim girl has been assessed as 20 years and she is major. Hence, the petitioner may be granted the privilege of anticipatory bail.
