2. On mentioning slip being filed for priority listing, the matter has been listed today under the heading 'To Be Mentioned'.

3. The petitioner's husband passed away while in service on 16.10.2012. Claiming the benefit of compassionate appointment she has approached the authority by an application, which as per stand taken in the counter affidavits filed by the

Patna High Court CWJC No.3423 of 2020(4) dt.12-07-2023 2/2 authority, is pending consideration before the District Level Compassionate Committee.

4. The mater relates to Patna and the unfortunate demise of the petitioner's husband is in the year 2012, whereas the writ application is being heard in 2023. To say the least, the state of affairs is undesirable. Keeping the application of compassionate appointment pending for over a decade is prmia facie unacceptable.

5. The writ application is, therefore, disposed of with direction to the District Magistrate -cum- Chairman, Compassionate Appointment, District- Patna (respondent no. 6) to ensure taking of a final decision with respect to the petitioner's claim within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order. If required, the petitioner may be called upon to submit documents. The entire exercise must be completed within a period of eight weeks. (Madhuresh Prasad, J) shyambihari/- U
