Heard learned counsel for the petitioner, learned counsel for the informant and learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the State.

The petitioner is languishing in custody for the offences punishable under Sections 147/148/149/323/365/34 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 3⁄4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act in connection with Korha P.S. Case No. 155 of 2019. Allegation against the petitioner is that he had sold away his wife. The aforesaid allegation appears from the statement of the victim lady recorded under Section 164 Cr.P.C. Learned counsel for the informant opposed the prayer for bail.

No.9284 of 2020(4) dt.06-07-2020 2/2 In view of the seriousness of the allegation and the fact that the victim escaped from the clutches of her rapist only after four years and the petitioner did not inform to any authority about missing of his wife, I am not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail.
