JUSTICE ANIL KUMAR UPADHYAY ORAL ORDER 05-06-2020 Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and State. The petitioner is in custody in connection with Bikram P.S. Case No. 163 of 2019 for the offence under Sections 385, 387 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code. Allegation against the petitioner is that he was involved in demanding rupees four lacs as ransom on mobile phone and through letter also.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that after the present case, the petitioner has been implicated in three other cases. He further submits that the mobile phone, through which ransom has been demanded, does not belong to the petitioner and the handwriting of the petitioner also does not match on the letter purportedly sent for demand of ransom. The petitioner is in custody since 20.09.2019.

Considering the aforesaid facts and circumstances of

Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.12420 of 2020(3) dt.05-06-2020 2/2 the case, the petitioner, named above, is directed to be released on bail on furnishing bail bonds of Rs.25,000/- (Rupees twenty five thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate-VI, Danapur, Patna in connection with Bikram P.S. Case No. 163 of 2019 with the condition that the petitioner on release will render his service as volunteer for a period of one month in dedicated Covid Hospital. He is required to report to the District Nodal Officer in the concerned region, who shall utilize his service in this pandemic.
