The petitioner seeks bail in Mehandiganj P.S. Case No. 43/2016, registered for the offences punishable under Sections 399, 402 and 414 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 47(a) and 54 of Bihar Excise (Amendment) Act and Section 20 and 22 of the NDPS Act.

The police got information that criminals have assembled at the house of the petitioner to commit cognizable offence and on such the police raided the house of the petitioner. The police arrested five persons including the petitioner. On search, some articles were recovered besides small quantity of liquor and ganja.

It is submitted that the petitioner is in jail since 20.05.2016. He has already remained in jail for nine months.
