This application for regular bail arises out of Bikram P.S. Case No. 163 of 2019, disclosing offence punishable under Sections 385, 387, 506 of the Indian Penal Code. The informant is a shopkeeper and it has been alleged that he had initially found a letter lying near his shop, demanding extortion money. Subsequently, he received a call on his mobile phone from a mobile number registered in the name of the petitioner. On the allegation that the cell phone number, from which the demand of extortion money was made, was registered in the name of the petitioner, he has been made accused. The petitioner is in custody since 25.10.2019. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner

Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.9340 of 2020(3) dt.02-06-2020 2/2 has submitted that except that call was made from the said number, there is no material to establish that it was the petitioner who was demanding extortion money.

Case diary has been called for, from which it appears that, allegedly, one Golu Kumar had demanded the extortion money from the said number.

After lodging of the present FIR, the petitioner has been implicated in some other cases also, as has been disclosed in paragraph 3 of the application.

Considering the nature of materials available in the case diary and accusation, this application is allowed. Let the petitioner, above-named, be released on bail on furnishing bail bonds of Rs. 10,000/-(ten thousand), with two sureties of the like amount, each to the satisfaction of learned ACJM-VI, Danapur, Patna in Bikram P.S.
