JUSTICE MOHIT KUMAR SHAH ORAL ORDER 16-05-2024 The present writ petition has been filed seeking the following relief:- "1. (i) To issue a writ in the nature of Mandamus or any other appropriate writ/ writs, order/ orders, direction/ directions commanding the Respondent no. 2 to issue licence of Rifle to the petitioner on the basis of the application dated 9.3.2018 submitted by the petitioner contained in Annexure-1 to this application."

At the outset, the learned counsel for the petitioner seeks a direction upon the District Magistrate, Vaishali to dispose off the application filed by the petitioner on 09.03.2018, for grant of

Patna High Court CWJC No.4710 of 2024(2) dt.16-05-2024 2/2 arms license.

Per contra, the learned counsel for the respondent-State submits that in case the aforesaid application is still pending, the same would definitely be disposed off within a stipulated time frame, as is fixed by this Court.

Having regard to the limited prayer made by the petitioner, I deem it fit and proper to direct the District Magistrate, Vaishali to dispose off the aforesaid application dated 09.03.2018, filed by the petitioner for grant of arms license, in case the same has been filed and is still pending consideration, by passing a reasoned and a speaking order, in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks of receipt/production of a copy of this order.

The writ petition stands disposed off on the aforesaid terms.
