JUSTICE JYOTI SARAN ORAL ORDER 30-03-2016 Heard Mr. Vikram Deo Singh, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and learned counsel for the State. The petitioner apprehends his arrest in connection with Chainpur P.S. Case No. 228 of 2015 for offences punishable under section 409, 419 and 420 of the Indian Penal Code.

The petitioner happens to be the Sub-Postmaster at Chainpur Sub-Post office and the allegation against him is of fraudulent deposition and withdrawal of Government money connected with the MANREGA schemes. The total amount is to the tune of Rs.32 lacs.

Considering the status of the petitioner and the allegation made, I am not persuaded to grant anticipatory bail to him.

Patna High Court Cr.Misc. No.5098 of 2016 (2) dt.30-03-2016 2/2 This application is accordingly disposed of with the direction to the petitioner to surrender and pray for regular bail which shall be considered by the Court below and disposed on its own merits without being prejudiced by the order passed in this proceeding.
