2. The present petition has been preferred for the grant of following relief(s):

"for issuance of appropriate Writ/Writs, Order/Orders, Direction/ Directions in the nature of Writ of Mandamus for a direction to the respondents No. 5 to comply the order dated 08.12.2016 passed by the Sub-Divisional Public Grievance Redressal Officer, Kishanganj, in Public Grievance case No508118015111600023/2016 whereby and whereunder the Circle Officer, Dighalbank, was directed to take application from the petitioner

Patna High Court CWJC No.21416 of 2018(2) dt.04-11-2025 2/2 and to thereafter to send proposal to the competent authority after maintaining the records in the office with regard to the settlement of the Government land lo the petitioner and the petitioner was also directed therein to submit application to the Circle officer, Dighalbank, in this regard, for any other relief or reliefs to the petitioner is entitle for."

3. A counter affidavit has come on behalf of the respondent no. 2 to 5 in which paragraph no.8 shows that the land in question has been found to be a water body which cannot be settled.

4. This Court is in full agreement with the stand taken by the respondents. Slowly, the water bodies are disappearing in the State of Bihar, for the reasons best known to everyone. The least that we can do now is to preserve such water bodies which are still in existence.

5. However, since there is no appearance, the writ is dismissed for non-prosecution.
