JUSTICE VINOD KUMAR SINHA ORAL ORDER 18-04-2017 The petitioner is in custody since 21.12.2016 in connection with Muffasil P.S. Case No. 284 of 2016, registered for offences punishable under Sections 324/307 of Indian Penal Code.

Allegation against the petitioner is of assault to the informant.

It has been submitted on behalf of the petitioner that except one injury on the person of the informant all other injuries are simple in nature. Petitioner has no criminal antecedent and has been in custody for more than four months.

Learned counsel for the State opposed the prayer for bail and submitted that petitioner has not only assaulted the informant but other persons also, who tried to intervene in the matter.

Patna High Court Cr.Misc. No.13200 of 2017 (3) dt.18-04-2017 2/2 Having heard both sides, in view of the allegations, I am not inclined to grant the petitioner privilege of regular bail, his prayer for bail is accordingly rejected.

However, the trial court is directed to expedite the trial and try to conclude it as soon as possible preferably within a period of nine months.
