====================================================== CORAM: HONOURABLE MR. JUSTICE A. ABHISHEK REDDY ORAL ORDER 22-07-2026 Without going into the merits or demerits of the case, the present writ petition is disposed of at the stage of admission with the consent of both the Counsels.

2. Having regard to the fact that the petitioner is having an alternative and efficacious remedy of filing an appeal, the present writ petition is disposed of granting liberty to the petitioner to file a statutory appeal before the District Magistrate, Patna i.e. Respondent No. 2 herein under Section 56A of the Act challenging the confiscation proceeding within a period of 4 weeks from today. On such appeal being filed, the

Patna High Court CWJC No.3318 of 2026(3) dt.22-07-2026 2/2 Respondent No. 2 herein shall pass a reasoned order duly taking into consideration the grounds of appeal. It is needless to observe that before passing any order the petitioner shall be put on notice and given an opportunity of hearing. The entire exercise shall be completed as expeditiously as possible preferably within a period of 8 weeks from the date of receipt of the copy of this order. Any order passed shall be communicated to the party.

3. With the above observation, the present Writ Petition stands disposed of.
