The prayer for bail of the petitioner was earlier rejected vide order dated 17.08.2019 passed in Cr. Misc. No. 27562 of 2019.

The petitioner is stated to be in custody since 06.10.2018.

On the last occasion, a report was called for regarding the stage of the case, which report has been received and kept at 'Flag-A'. A perusal of the report indicates that only one witness is left to be examined and the next date fixed in the case was 16.03.2020. In all probabilities, the case would have been over by now.

No.9760 of 2020(3) dt.03-07-2020 2/2 However, in the absence of any report regarding the fresh stage of the case, this Court only directs that the trial be concluded positively within a period of four months from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order as only one witness is to be examined.

In case the trial is not concluded within the aforesaid period, it would be open for the petitioner to approach the trial court for grant of bail.
