This application is for grant of bail in connection with S.T.No.172 of 2016 arising out of Madheprua P.S.Case No.579 of 2014 for the offence under Sections 395 and 397 of the Indian Penal Code.

It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that only on the basis of suspicion, he has been arrested and he is in custody since long in this case.

Heard learned A.P.P. also, who has opposed the prayer for bail on the ground that one witness has identified the petitioner during the course of investigation and apart from that he is accused in other similar type of cases.

Having heard both sides and in view of the above facts, I am

Patna High Court Cr.Misc. No.9899 of 2017 (3) dt.30-03-2017 2/2 not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner, however, as the petitioner is in custody and it appears that sessions trial has also been commenced, the learned trial court is directed to expedite the trial and try to conclude it within a period of one year. With the aforesaid observation, this application is dismissed.
