JUSTICE SANDEEP KUMAR ORAL ORDER 03-07-2026 Heard Mr. Rama Kant Sharma, the learned Senior Counsel for the petitioner, learned APP for the State and the learned counsel for the informant.
2. The petitioner seeks regular bail in connection with Muffasil P.S. Case No. 763 of 2025 registered for the offence under Sections 191(2), 191(3), 190, 308(5), 308(4), 119(1), 351(2), 324 and 112 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.
3. As per the FIR, the petitioner, along with others, is accused of demanding extortion (rangdari) of Rs. 5 Crore.
4. Learned Senior Counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is innocent and has not committed any offence. It is further submitted that, due to a partnership dispute,

5. Per contra, learned counsel for the State as well as learned counsel for the informant vehemently oppose the bail application. It is submitted that the petitioner is a land mafia and a habitual criminal who captures land by use of muscle power. It is further submitted that most of the cases in which the petitioner is an accused relate to extortion and there are five such extortion cases against him.
6. The petitioner appears to be involved in demanding extortion. The allegations against the petitioner are serious and grave in nature. There exists prima facie material against the petitioner indicating his involvement in the commission of the offence.
7. Considering the nature and gravity of the offence as well as the criminal antecedents of the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to grant regular bail to the petitioner.
8. Accordingly, this application for regular bail stands dismissed.
