The petitioner is widow of late Ram Nandan Pandit. In the present writ petition, the petitioner has raised the grievance of non-payment of balance amount of gratuity. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that in terms of letter no. 820 dated 23.09.2009, the petitioner is entitled to benefit of enhanced gratuity amounting to Rs.10,00,000/-, as the petitioner was paid gratuity to the tune of Rs. 3,50,000/-, which was admissible at the relevant time. Considering the aforesaid, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to examine the claim of

Patna High Court CWJC No.6098 of 2020(2) dt.26-06-2020 2/2 the petitioner and if it is found that enhanced gratuity was not paid to the petitioner, the balance amount of gratuity shall be paid to the petitioner in terms of letter no. 820 dated 23.09.2009 within a maximum period of four months from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order, failing which, the petitioner shall be entitled to payment of interest at the rate of 9% per annum from the date of filing of writ petition till the date of actual payment.

With the aforesaid, the writ application stands disposed of.
