The petitioner is the son of an employee of respondent / Food Corporation of India, who died in harness on 14.02.2017.
The petitioner has approached this Court for a direction to the respondent / corporation to consider his case for being appointed on compassionate ground for which he has made necessary application before the concerned authority. The petitioner has also brought to the notice of this Court that he has the requisite qualification for being appointed on any Class-IV post. The mother of the petitioner, i.e., the wife of
Patna High Court CWJC No.1060 of 2019 dt.14-02-2019 2/3 the deceased employee has also filed a representation before the concerned authority for consideration of the case of the petitioner, who is the second son of the deceased employee. It has further been asserted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that there is no other government servant in the near family of the deceased employee.
Under the aforesaid circumstances, taking into account that there has been a disruption in the source of income of the family and some immediate solace or succour may be required, this Court directs the petitioner to make a fresh representation, giving personal details, for consideration for appointment on compassionate ground before the General Manager (Region), Bihar, within a period of four weeks from today. On receipt of such representation / application, the candidature of the petitioner for being appointed on compassionate ground would be disposed off in accordance with rules of the department for compassionate appointment. The petition shall be disposed off by a reasoned order by the concerned respondent within a reasonable period of time,

With the aforesaid observation / direction, this writ petition stands disposed off.
