2. The petitioner seeks regular bail in connection with POCSO Case No.18 of 2022 (arising out of Kumarkhand P.S. Case No.171 of 2022), lodged under Section 366A of the I.P.C. read with section 8 of the POCSO Act.

3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the bail application of the petitioner has earlier been rejected vide order dated 22.12.2022 passed in Cr. Misc. No.64485 of 2022 in which direction was given to the trial court to expedite the trial within 8 months.

4. Learned counsel for the petitioner further submits that 8 months have already been lapsed.

5. Learned counsel for the State opposes the prayer

Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.15163 of 2024(3) dt.26-04-2024 2/2 for bail and submits that progress report has been called for. From the progress report, it transpires that out of 9 charge-sheet witnesses, 8 witnesses were already examined and trial court submits that trial may be concluded within 2 months.

6. In the present facts and circumstances of this case and the submissions made above, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. Therefore, the bail application of the petitioner is hereby rejected at present.
