JUSTICE ARUN KUMAR ORAL ORDER 30-03-2018 Heard learned counsels for the petitioner and the State. The petitioner, already in custody since 15.02.2017 seeks bail in connection with Sangrampur P.S.Case No. 50 of 2017 registered under Sections 387 of the Indian penal Code. Allegation in brief is that demand of Rs. 15 lacs as extortion money was made from informant, a shopkeeper, from the SIM number of the petitioner.
It is submitted that petitioner himself has no knowledge that SIM is issued in his name from which such demand of extortion was made.
Whereas learned counsel for the State submits that there is specific allegation against the petitioner that demand of extortion money was made from his mobile number.
Having considered the aforesaid facts and circumstances,
Patna High Court Cr.Misc. No.18175 of 2018 (2) dt.30-03-2018 2/2 SIM number belongs to the petitioner as well as criminal antecedent of similar nature of offence, the prayer of bail the petitioner is presently rejected.
