JUSTICE MOHIT KUMAR SHAH ORAL ORDER 10-11-2022 At the outset, the learned counsel for the petitioner seeks permission to add District Magistrate, Patna as party respondent no.5 to the present writ petition. Permission so sought is granted. The needful be done during the course of the day.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that after the case of the petitioner for grant of arms license was rejected by the District Magistrate, Patna, he had filed an appeal before the learned Court of Divisional Commissioner, Patna vide Arms Appeal No. 37 of 2014, which was allowed by an order dated 24.06.2016 and the matter in question was remanded back to the District Magistrate, Patna for

Patna High Court CWJC No.7087 of 2021(2) dt.10-11-2022 2/2 consideration, afresh, however, no decision has been taken by the District Magistrate, Patna, till date, hence, it is prayed that a direction be issued for expeditious disposal of the case of the petitioner for grant of Arms License.

The learned counsel for the Respondent State submits that in case, the case of the petitioner for grant of arms license is still pending before the District Magistrate, Patna, the same shall be disposed off, expeditiously.

Accordingly, the present writ petition stands disposed off with a direction to the District Magistrate, Patna to dispose off the pending case of the petitioner for grant of Arms License, if not already disposed off, by passing a reasoned and a speaking order, in accordance with law, within a period of 8 weeks of receipt/production of a copy of this order.
