KUMAR ORAL ORDER 06-07-2017 Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and the State. The petitioner seeks bail in a case instituted under Sections 387, 488, 420, 471 and 120B of the Indian Penal Code. Allegation is that Rs. 5 lacs was demanded as ransom from the informant through mobile phone by the accused persons. It has been submitted on behalf of petitioner that petitioner is not named in the F.I.R. His name has come on the basis of confessional statement of the co-accused Anil Kumar. Petitioner is in custody since 08.12.2014.

It is submitted by the learned State counsel that petitioner demanded ransom of Rs. 5 lacs from informant and the said amount has been recovered from him. There are evidences in support of the prosecution case against the petitioner.

Patna High Court Cr.Misc. No.29606 of 2017 (2) dt.06-07-2017 2/2 Considering the aforesaid facts and circumstances, I am not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. Prayer for bail is rejected.

However, the trial court is directed to expedite the trial in connection with Sheohar P. S. Case no. 181 of 2014 and conclude the same within a period of six months from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order. If the trial is not concluded within the stipulated period, petitioner will be at liberty to renew his prayer for bail.
