1. The present writ petition has been filed seeking the following relief(s):- "1. That this writ application is being filed for issuance of an appropriate writ/writs, direction/directions to the respondents to dispose of the Arms License application before Respondent No.4 which is kept pending since long back in the year 2018 arising out of Arms Case No.42 of 2018 more than 7 years and further be directed to grant license as per circular no. V-11016/16/2009 issued by Joint Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India."

2. At the outset, the learned counsel for the petitioner seeks a direction upon the District Magistrate, Rohtas, to

Patna High Court CWJC No.4740 of 2024(2) dt.16-05-2024 2/2 dispose off the pending Arms Case No.42 of 2018.

3. Per contra, the learned counsel for the respondentState submits that in case the aforesaid case is still pending consideration, the same would definitely be disposed off, within a stipulated time frame, as is fixed by this Court.

4. Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case, I deem it fit and proper to direct the District Magistrate, Rohtas, to dispose off the aforesaid Arms Case No.42 of 2018, by passing a reasoned and a speaking order, in accordance with law, within a period of 6 weeks of receipt/production of a copy of this order.

5. The writ petition stands disposed off on the aforesaid terms.
