JUSTICE MOHIT KUMAR SHAH ORAL ORDER 13-05-2024 The present writ petition has been filed seeking the following relief:- "1. That this is application on behalf of the petitioner for issuance of writ in the nature of mandamus for giving direction to Respondent No. 2 to dispose off the Armed License Case No. IX 358/2022 of the petitioner, pending before him."

At the outset, the learned counsel for the petitioner seeks a direction upon the Respondent No. 2, i.e. the District Magistrate, Patna, to dispose off his pending application, filed in the year, 2022, for grant of arms licence.

Per contra, the learned counsel for the Respondent-State submits that in case, the petitioner has filed an application for

Patna High Court CWJC No.3611 of 2024(2) dt.13-05-2024 2/2 grant of arms license and the same is still pending, it shall be disposed off, within a fixed time frame.

Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case, I deem it fit and proper to direct the Respondent No. 2 to dispose off the aforesaid application, filed by the petitioner, for grant of arms license, in case the same is till pending, by passing a reasoned and a speaking order, in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks of receipt / production of a copy of this order.

The writ petition stands disposed off on the aforesaid terms.
