The petitioner seeks bail in a case instituted for the offences under Sections 386 and 387 of the Indian Penal Code. The prosecution case in short is that the accused persons demanded rangdari from the informant. It has been submitted on behalf of the petitioner that the petitioner is in custody since 1.7.2018. There is no allegation of tampering of witnesses alleged against the petitioner. Chargesheet has been submitted in the present case. It is submitted that no rangdari has been demanded by the petitioner. Except for suspicion, there is no other substantive evidence to suggest his implication in the present case. No ransom has been paid in this case.

Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.17454 of 2019(3) dt.29-07-2019 2/2 On behalf of the State, it is submitted that the petitioner is named in the F.I.R. The petitioner has 19 criminal cases pending against him.

Considering the same, I am not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner in connection with Sultanganj P.S. Case No. 118 of 2018. The same is rejected. The Trial Court is directed to conclude the trial at the earliest preferably within a period of nine months from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order.
