Petitioner is languishing in custody in connection with Lauriya P.S. Case No. 147 of 2016 for the offences punishable under Sections 20(c)/22/23 of the N.D.P.S. Act, pending in the Court of Sessions Judge, West Champaran, Bettiah. Four kilograms of Charas was allegedly recovered from the possession of the petitioner. Petitioner is in custody since 28.08.2016.

The report of the trial judge reveals that prosecution evidence is going on. The report of the forensic laboratory reveals that the recovered article was Charas.

Patna High Court Cr.Misc. No.10643 of 2017 (4) dt.21-06-2017 2/2 Considering the aforesaid material, I am not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail. The prayer for bail of the petitioner is refused. The trial Court is directed to expedite the trial and conclude the same within nine months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, failing which the petitioner may renew the prayer for bail before the Court-below itself, who shall pass a reasoned order.
