1. Though the present writ petition has been filed for directing the respondent authorities to grant arms license to the petitioner under the Heirloom Policy, as per the provisions contained in the Arms Rules, 2016, however, at the outset, the learned counsel for the petitioner seeks liberty on behalf of the petitioner to file appropriate petition in appropriate format along with all the relevant documents, however, seeks a direction upon the District Magistrate, Patna to consider the same, in accordance with law and dispose off the same, within a fixed time frame.

2. Having regard to the limited prayer made by the

Patna High Court CWJC No.5789 of 2020(3) dt.17-10-2024 2/2 petitioner in the present writ petition, I deem it fit and proper to grant liberty to the petitioner to file appropriate application in proper format, as prescribed in the Arms Rules, 2016, along with the requisite documents and in case the same is filed within a period of four weeks from today the same shall be considered by the District Magistrate, Patna, in accordance with law and a reasoned and a speaking order shall be passed, thereon, within a period of six weeks, thereafter.

3. The writ petition stands disposed off on the aforesaid terms.
