2. The petitioner has preferred this application for grant of regular bail in connection with Govindganj P.S. Case No. 294 of 2018 dated 15.10.2018 registered for the offences punishable u/s 387 of the Indian Penal Code.
3. As per the prosecution case, the informant received a text message for demand of Rs. 50,00,000/- as rangdari from mobile number 9633175264. It is further alleged that the informant was also threatened of dire consequences if he would not fulfill the above demand.
4. Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the petitioner is innocent and has falsely been implicated in this case. The petitioner is not named in the F.I.R. The name of the petitioner has sprung up in the confessional
Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.17896 of 2024(3) dt.19-04-2024 2/3 statement of the co-accused, Bablu Pandey. Nothing has been recovered from the conscious possession of the petitioner. It is further submitted that the petitioner has no concern with the alleged offence. The co-accused person has already been granted anticipatory bail by this court vide order dated 28.02.2023 passed in Cr. Misc. No. 1864 of 2023. The petitioner is accused in seven other criminal cases in which he is on bail as stated in para 3 of the bail petition. The petitioner is in custody since 28.07.2023.
5. Learned A.P.P. for the State has vehemently opposed the bail petition of the petitioner.

Considering the aforesaid facts and circumstances of the case as well as the period of custody, the petitioner above-named, is directed to be enlarged on bail on furnishing bail-bond of Rs.20,000/- (Rupees Twenty Thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of learned Court concerned, Motihari, East Champaran in connection with Govindganj P.S. Case No. 294 of 2018 with further condition :- (i) The petitioner is directed to remain physically present before the learned Court below on each and every date, failing which on two consecutive dates
Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.17896 of 2024(3) dt.19-04-2024 3/3 without reasonable cause, the prosecution will be at liberty to move for cancellation of his bail bond.
