2. The petitioner apprehends arrest in connection with Bihta P.S. Case No. 389 of 2024 registered for offences under Sections 279, 307, 379, 413, 414, 120B/34 of the Indian Penal Code, Section 11 of the Animal Cruelty Act and under Sections 3⁄4 of the Punjab Cow Killing Prohibition Act.

3. As per the prosecution case, the petitioner is alleged to have been involved in the illegal trafficking of stolen animals and in treating animals with cruelty. The petitioner is the owner of the said truck in which the cattle were being smuggled.

4. Considering the nature and gravity of the offence, this Court is not inclined to grant the privilege of anticipatory

5. Accordingly, the application for anticipatory bail is hereby rejected.

6. The petitioner is directed to surrender in the court below within a period of two weeks from today and seek regular bail, failing which the Senior Superintendent of Police, Patna will take all steps for the arrest of the petitioner.

7. It is, however, clarified that the observations made herein are limited to the adjudication of the present application and shall not prejudice the case of the petitioner at any subsequent stage of the proceedings.

8. Let a copy of this order be communicated to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Patna through FAX for its compliance forthwith.
