JUSTICE ASHUTOSH KUMAR ORAL JUDGMENT Date : 29-03-2019 The petitioner has approached this Court for payment of ex-gratia amount of Rs. 50,000/- because of the death of his grand-father in the year 1998 while serving as Chaukidar and for his appointment on compassionate ground.

2. Till date, the prayer of the petitioner has not been acceded to for the reason that the records of the service of the grand-father of the petitioner is not available.

3. The averments made in the writ petition indicate that because the District of Bhojpur was bifurcated in two administrative units/districts viz. Arah and Buxar, the records of the service of the petitioner's grand-father is not to be found.

4. This is no explanation so far as the State is concerned.

5. However, the prayer made on behalf of the petitioner appears to be highly stale even with respect to the ex-gratia payment as it is being claimed because of the death of the grand-father of the petitioner which took place a long time ago.

6. This Court sees no reason to interfere in the matter.

7. The writ petition stands dismissed.
