The petitioner has been in custody since 14.09.2017 in connection with Chakiya P.S. Case No. 22/2016 registered for the offences punishable under Sections 392 of the Indian Penal Code.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is neither named in the First Information Report nor was arrested from the place of occurrence and nothing has been recovered from the possession of the petitioner. It is further submitted that the petitioner's name surfaced on the confessional statement made before the police by a co-accused Aftab Alam which has no evidentiary value. It is further submitted that the petitioner has not been placed on T.I. Parade.

Case No. 22/2016.
