The petitioner apprehends his arrest in a case registered for the offence under Sections 323, 376, 354 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 4 of the POCSO Act. It is alleged that on the false promise of marriage, this petitioner committed sexual intercourse with the minor daughter of the informant.

The victim, in her statement recorded under Section 164 Cr.P.C., has supported the prosecution case and specifically stated that this petitioner has committed rape upon her and threatened not to disclose the ordeal.

Considering nature of allegation, gravity of the offence and severity of punishment, if convicted, the prayer for
