The petitioner seeks bail in connection with Barauni (Zeromile) P.S. Case No. 56 of 2018 for the offences punishable under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 30(a) of the Bihar Prohibition & Excise Act, 2016. The allegation is regarding recovery of 270 liters of illicit liquor from a pick up van.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is merely a driver of the said pick up van and he was not in the knowledge as to what was being carried in the car by the owner. The petitioner is stated to be having a clean antecedent and he is languishing in custody since 19.02.2018.

No.29841 of 2018 (2) dt.21-05-2018 2/2 Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case, the petitioner, above named, is directed to be released on bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs. 10,000/- (rupees ten thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of learned Additional Sessions Judge-II-cum-Special Judge, Excise Court, Begusarai in connection with Barauni (Zeromile) P.S. Case No. 56 of 2018.
