=========================================================== CORAM: HONOURABLE MR. JUSTICE KISHORE KUMAR MANDAL ORAL JUDGMENT Date: 05-08-2016 Heard Mr. S.P. Srivastava for the petitioner and Mr. Janardan Prasad Singh for the respondent Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (for short 'the Corporation').

The petitioner, representing himself as the General Secretary, Power Grid Karmchari Sangh, Eastern Region, Patna has filed the writ application questioning the shifting of office of the Karmachari

Patna High Court CWJC No.20720 of 2013 dt.05-08-2016 Union by the Corporation. Indisputably, the petitioner does not presently hold the elective post of General Secretary. It is submitted by Mr. Singh that the office of the Union of India has already been shifted. There is no scope for writ Court to interfere in matter like this. Grant of accommodation for running the Union office is not a statutory right. It is a facility which the respondent Corporation has provided.

The writ petition, in my view, does not present a case where the extraordinary power of the writ court could be exercised. The writ application is dismissed. '
