2. The petitioner, an applicant, for being selected as Home Guard, pursuant to the advertisement No. 01 of 2006, has approached this Court seeking a direction upon the authorities to conclude the selection process. The petitioner was an applicant from 'Bhojpur' District.

3. Learned State counsel submits that soft copy of the counter affidavit has been filed after due service upon the petitioner's counsel. Paragraph No.13 of the counter affidavit

Patna High Court CWJC No.3743 of 2023(3) dt.21-08-2023 2/2 reads as follows:- "13. That the answering respondent tenders his unconditional apology for the extraordinary delay in completing the selection process of Home Guards pursuant to the Advertisement No.

01/2006, and assure this Hon'ble Court that the same will be completed in a year time."

4. In view of such assertion, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that relief, prayed for in the writ application, has become infructuous. The writ application is, accordingly, disposed of.
