The grievance of the petitioner in the present writ application relates to payment of GPF amount for the year 197172 to 1986-87 with statutory interest. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner joined the service as Gram Sewak at Harnaut block on 8.12.1971 and worked there till 31.12.1986. He further submits that provident fund of the petitioner was deducted from his salary each month.

Considering the fact that the grievance of the petitioner is only confined to payment of GPF amount, the writ

Patna High Court CWJC No.5377 of 2020(2) dt.25-06-2020 2/2 petition is disposed of with a direction to the District Provident Fund Officer, Nalanda, Biharsharif to verify the record and ascertain about deduction of the GPF amount of the petitioner. In the event, the GPF amount of the petitioner was deducted as mentioned hereinabove, he shall ensure payment of GPF amount to the petitioner alongwith calculation chart within a period of three months from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order, failing which the petitiner shall be entitled to payment of additional interest @ 9 % from the date of filing of the writ application till the date of actual payment. With the aforesaid, the writ application stands disposed of.
